"No Kill" is a short-hand phrase for a policy that aims to prevent the need to kill homeless pets by controlling their production. For at least the last 50 years the Government has maintained an expensive, inhumane and ineffective method of rounding up dogs, cats and other companion animals to kill them, at more that 20,000 a year. We believe that a few simple pro-active measures can prevent the accumulation of these surplus unwanted animals. - this is called the No Kill Policy. This is a policy supported by all those who hate to see dogs and cats roaming the streets uncared for and posing nuisance and danger to society." Click for poster and website.

Setting off from The Island Bar at around 12:00 noon, teams of up to 4
(or occasionally more) will set off in search of clues to lead them over
hill and dale around Lamma, eventually and hopefully arriving back for a
free drink at The Island Bar.
Basically kid-friendly, the route usually takes those who concentrate
less than 2 hours to complete. This year it includes just one major set
of steps on the route and will also include some simple clues especially
designed for children to answer so they can win their very own prizes.
Prizes for the teams include some great dinners and lunches for 4 and
other generous donations from Lamma hostelries, as well as some from
Hong Kong. In previous years the Lammaites have conjured up as much as
20 teams.
Win some super prizes if you can come up with the best costumes or
'most original name' for their team, complete the course in record time,
and/or collect most of the items identified on the hunt.
Being Lamma and being Green, participants are not encouraged to collect
anything from live trees or plants, and most of the items sought will
contribute to cleaning up the environment rather than disturbing it.
Father Christmas might be popping in to say Hi to the youngsters in
attendance whilst their parents wait anxiously for the results of their
treasure hunting.
Cost per team for entry is HK$200, all of which goes to Operation Santa
Claus.
Contact Sharon at 2982 2800, Dan at 9030 2888 or Kumar at 2982 1376."
